Embarked Sydney, 13 May 1916; disembarked Plymouth, England, 9 July 1916. Admitted to 1st Australian Dermatological Hospital, Bulford, 2 August 1916; discharged from hospital, 11 August 1916; total period of treatment for venereal disease: 9 days.

Proceeded overseas to France, 22 September 1916; taken on strength, 54th Bn, 6 October 1916.

Admitted to 1st New Zealand Stationary Hospital, Amiens, 2 December 1916; transferred to Ambulance Train and admitted to 51st General Hospital, Etaples; discharged to Base depot, 16 January 1917; total period of treatment for venereal disease: 45 days. Rejoined Bn, 22 January 1917.

Admitted to 4th Field Ambulance, 24 January 1917; transferred from Divisional Rest Station to 45th Casualty Clearing Station, 26 January 1917; to Ambulance Train No 25 and admitted to 51st General Hospital, Etaples, 16 February 1917; discharged to Base Depot, 27 March 1917; total period of treatment for venereal disease: 62 days. Rejoined unit, 12 April 1917.

Died of wounds received in action, 15 May 1917.
