Wounded in action, 19 August 1916 (gun shot wound, arm(, and admitted to 2nd Field Ambulance; transferred to 26th General Hospital, Etaples, 20 August 1916; to 1st Australian Division Base Depot, 5 September 1916; rejoined unit, 1 October 1916.

Found guilty, 10 September 1917, of being absent without leave from 0730, 24 August, until 0730, 28 August 1917: awarded 14 days' Field Punishment No 2,and forfeited 5 days' pay.

Wounded in action, Belgium, 20 September 1917 (shrapnel wound, stomach), and admitted to 3rd Australian Field Ambulance.

Died of wounds, 20 September 1917.
