Military Medal 'During the attack on MONTBREHAIN, east of PERONNE, on 5th October, 1918, Lance Corporal PARKER was in charge of Lewis gun. Throughout the operation he displayed an utter contempt of danger, and his gun inflicted serious casualties on the enemy. When his Company was consolidating, the left flank was being seriously harassed by the enemy. With admirable initiative and fearlessness, he pushed forward alone over exposed ground and not only covered the consolidation, but broke up an enemy attempt to counter attack, which threatened to be very serious. At the close of the day he was the sole survivor of his detachment.'
