'As Transport Sergeant of this Battalion, the work of this N.C.O. has always been praiseworthy and of the highest order. His work during the temporary absence of the Transport Officer on duty often occasioned quick action. In the attack on MONT ST. QUENTIN on 1st September, 1918, the work of the Transport Section was exceedingly difficult. This N.C.O. reconnoitred the roads leading round the bend of the river through CLERY to Battalion Headquarters in the ravine, and got the limbers and rations through successfully, being continuously under fire. At MONTBREHAIN on 5th October, 1918, this N.C.O.was again conspicuous in the forward area, and was largely responsible for the supply of rations and ammunition in the front line during the attack both on the BEAUREVOIR System, and the village of MONTBREHAIN. On the night of 3rd October, 1918, during the attack on the BEAUREVOIR System, he personally superintended the delivery of the rations to the front line itself. PARKER's experience and devotion has largely contributed to the maintenance of an efficient Transport Section, and which so materially aided in the later successful operations of the Battalion.'
