Meritorious Service Medal

'For good and meritorious service as a Driver during operations in September and October, 1918. In many cases he has performed his duties of delivering ammunition to Battery positions under heavy shell fire, and on three occasions had his horse shot under him. Driver ALEXANDER has always showed an utter disregard of personal danger, and under all conditions has never failed to carry out his duty. His coolness under fire and devotion to duty has made him a valuable man to this unit. This man has at all times been most thorough in his work, thereby setting a splendid example to his comrades.'
