Military Medal 'For gallant conduct and initiative during operations at PERONNE, on 1st/2nd September 1918. Whilst reforming after crossing a bridge his platoon was fired on by an enemy Machine gun. With one other, this man rushed the position with his Lewis gun killing 2 of the crew one of whom was an Officer thus enabling his platoon to proceed.'
