Military Medal 'During the last six months this N.C.O. has done excellent work. His initiative and presence of mind under shell fire have resulted in the saving of lives of men, and horses. On several occasions during the advance near PERONNE in August and September 1918, this N.C.O. showed great resource and initiative in getting machine gun limbers into most advanced positions in face of shell and Machine Gun fire and under direct observation from the enemy, thus rendering invaluable assistance to the advancing sections.'
