Military Medal 'During the attack on BROODSEINDE RIDGE east of YPRES on 4th October, 1917, Pte. PEARCE acted as Stretcher Bearer throughout the action and did splendid work dressing and carrying wounded back during the advance. No shell fire was too heavy for this Stretcher Bearer to dress his man and carry him away and his courage and devotion to duty saved many lives.'
