Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry. During the attack at BROODSEINDE on 4th October, 1917, this N.C.O.'s work was remarkable. He perfomre dthe duties of an Officer, and during the consolidation his services were of the utmost assistance. He displayed remarkable coolness under fire and all his Company speak in glowing terms of his cheerfulness and courage in the work he performed.'
