Admitted to No 2 Light Horse Field Ambulance, Dueidar, 18 June 1916, and transferred to Casualty Clearing Station, Kantara, the same day (venereal disease); to Government Hospital, 19 June 1916; to No 1 Australian Dermatological Hospital, 21 June 1916; to quarantine, 19 July 1916; discharged, 20 July 1916, and marched into 2nd Light Horse Training Regiment, Tel el Kebir, the same day.

Proceeded to unit, 5 August 1916; rejoined 12th Light Horse Regiment, Serapeum, 7 August 1916.

Transferred to, and taken on strength of 4th Field Troop, Imperial Field Squadron, Sheik Zoward, 2 March 1917.

Evacuated to hospital, Abasan, 16 August 1917; admitted to No 14 Australian General Hospital, Abbassia, 25 August 1917 (pneumonia); discharged, 13 September 1917, and marched into Engineers Training Unit, Moascar, the same day.

Proceeded to unit, 19 September 1917; taken on strength of 2nd Field Squadron, Tel el Fara, 22 September 1917.

Promoted Lance Corporal, 4 October 1918.

Evacuated to hospital, 11 October 1918 (pyrexia of unknown origin); admitted to No 14 Australian General Hospital, Port Said, 19 October 1918; now dangerously ill, 21 October 1918 (bronchitis).

Died, No 14 Australian General Hospital, Port Said, 22 October 1918 (pneumonia, and malaria).

Buried by Chaplain S.N. Swain, Port Said Military Cemetery, 23 October 1918.
