Found guilty, 1st Training Bn, Perham Downs, 24 July 1916, of neglect of duty when in command of the guard: reprimanded.

Proceeded overseas to France, 9 August 1916; marched in to Instuctional Staff Training Camp, 13 August 1916.

Taken on strength, 3rd Bn, in the field, 19 February 1917.

Detached to Royal Flying Corps for mechanics test, 18 March 1917; rejoined unit, 21 March 1917.

Appointed Lance Corporal, 20 April 1917.
