Military Medal 'On 12th October, 1917, East of YPRES, for conspicuous bravery and devotion to duty in action. This N.C.O. had charge of carrying parties in the forward Area which was subject to exceedingly heavy shell and Machine Gun fire. He personally conducted his party, keeping the men well under control and continued to carry ammunition to the front line in spite of all difficulties. His work was such that a continuous supply of ammunition was kept moving forward to the Front Line although the conditions were most adverse.'
