Military Medal 'At VILLERET on the 18th September, 1918, Sergeant PUTTICK was in the leading wave of the attack. When his Officer had become a casualty, this N.C.O. led the platoon with great boldness and initiative against enemy strong points, which were troublesome to the advancing troops. Without hesitation he charged, completely breaking down the enemy morale, and they surrendered freely. On reaching the Line of Exploitation, this N.C.O. organized his platoon and by his cool judgment, selected sights commanding enemy approaches, meanwhile inflicting casualties on the retiring enemy within range. By fearless leadership and his personal disregard of danger, this successful route of the enemy was attained.'
