Transferred to 10th Bn, 24 July 1916.

Appointed Lance Corporal, 24 August 1917.

On leave to United Kingdom, 10 September 1917; admitted to hospital while on leave (still in France), 19 September 1917; transferred to 7th Convalescent Depot, Boulogne, 23 September 1917 (venereal disease: gonorrhea); to 39th General Hospital, Havre, 25 September 1917; discharged to Base Details, 12 October 1917; total period of treatment for venereal disease: 20 days.
