Croix de Guerre (France) Source: 'Commonwealth Gazette' No. 61 Date: Military Medal 'Acted as stretcher bearer during actions of 3rd to 5th May and carried out his work with total disregard for his own safety, continually passing through the enemy barrage between the work near O.G.1 and O.G. 2 the dressing station at NOREUIL and picking up wounded in full view of the enemy. Throughout he conducted himself with the utmost bravery.'
