'At MORLANCOURT on nights 28/29th and 29/30th July 1918. On above nights this N.C.O. as Acting R.S.M.A displayed great bravery and devotion to duty. He attended to despatching of carrying parties with rations, water and ammunition to front line and the whole time was subjected to intense enemy shell fire. He worked all night and all next day without rest. On night 29/30th July the Dumps etc. were heavily shelled with yellow cross gas, and this N.C.O. with absolute disregard for personal safety moved about the area, getting parties away from danger zone. By his actions the meals were despatched to front line troops in time. This N.C.O. has been in the Battalion since its inception and has at all times rendered excellent services.'
