Embarked Alexandria to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, Gallipoli, 3 September 1915.

Appointed Lance Corporal, 30 April 1915; Provisional Corporal, 30 April 1915; reverted to the ranks at own request, 25 July 1915.

Transferred to 5th Field Company Engineers, 13 August 1915.

Disembarked Alexandria, 9 January 1916 (general Gallipoli evacuation).

Transferred to 8th Field Company Engineers, 21 February 1916.

Found guilty, Ferry Post, 18 May 1916, of (1) failing to appear on parade; (2) neglect to the prejudice of good order and Military discipline: awarded 96 hours' Field Punishment No 2.

Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 17 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 25 June 1916.

Reported Missing, 19 July 1916.
