Embarked from Melbourne, 28 February 1918; disembarked Liverpool, 20 April 1918.

Proceeded overseas to France, 8 July 1918; taken on strength, 46th Bn, 17 July 1918.

Wounded in action, 19 September 1918 (gun shot wound, right thigh), and admitted to 12th Casualty Clearing Station. Transferred to 3rd Australian General Hospital, Abbeville, 24 September 1918; to England, 25 September 1918, and admitted to Norwich War Hospital. Discharged to No. 3 Auxiliary Hospital, Dartford, 5 November 1918; granted furlough, 5 November 1918, to report to No. 4 Command Depot, Hurdcott, 21 November 1918. Taken on strength, AIF Headquarters, 21 November 1918.

Appointed Temporary Corporal, 10 February 1919. Granted fees of 15/- to undertake book-keeping course at Polytechnic, Regent St., London.

Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Runic', 20 December 1919; disembarked Melbourne, 6 February 1920; discharged, 28 April 1920.
