Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty as a stretcher bearer in action near BULLECOURT on 3rd May 1917. Though twice wounded under heavy artillery and Machine Gun fire he remained at work until the morning of the 5th giving a magnificent example of pluck and endurance.'
