Military Medal 'For his gallantry in action near BULLECOURT on 3rd May 1917. After being wounded with his officer between the opposing lines he made his way under heavy Machine gun fire with a report from his officer. He then endeavoured to guide a stretcher party back until casualties prevented further progress.'
