Embarked Alexandria to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, Gallipoli, 5 April 1915.

Admitted to No 3 Field Ambulance, Anzac, 1 September 1915, then on the same day, was transferred to No 1 Australian Casualty Clearing Station, Anzac, then embarked on 'Gloucester Castle' (influenza); admitted to No 1 Australian General Hospital, Cairo, 5 September 1915 then transferred to No 3 Auxiliary Convalescent Depot, Cairo, the same day.

Marched in to 5th Training Bn, Zeitoun, 11 September 1915.

Embarked Zeitoun to rejoin the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, 21 October 1915; rejoined 3rd Bn, Anzac, 2 November 1915.

Disembarked Alexandria, 29 December 1915 (general Galllipoli evacuation).

Found guilty, 31 January 1916, of (1) breaking camp, (2) remaining absent from Tattoo, 26 January 1916, until 2200 hours, 29 January 1916: awarded 7 days' Field Punishment No 2 and forfeited 4 days' pay.

Transferred to 55th Bn, 13 February 1916; taken on strength of 55th Bn, Tel el Kebir, 13 February 1916.

Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 19 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 29 June 1916.

Posted missing, 20 July 1916.

Court of Enquiry, held in the field, 26 July 1917, pronounced fate as 'Killed in Action, 20 July 1916'.
