'At WESTHOEK 2nd to 4th October, 1917. These Drivers [ROBERTSON, 11944 J. EVERETT and 3984 F.H. GIBBS] have been conspicuous in devotion to their work and horses carrying ammunition in the short time available - setting a fine example of gallantry and enthusiasm. The result of the work of the Drivers was that the Battery had 8,000 rounds on the morning of the attack (4/10/1917) of which they had salvaged 1,000 rounds.'
