Military Medal 'At MORLANCOURT on night 28/29th July 1918. This N.C.O. during our attack displayed great bravery, initiative and coolness. He established a bombing block in the the enemy's trench after bombing them out, inflicting many casualties. He crawled out after final objective had been reached, and got into touch with advanced Piquet posts after we had three casualties endeavouring to do the same ting. He proved a clever, brave and skilful leader and set an inspiring example to the remainder of his Platoon.'
