Military Cross 'At Semakh, on 25th September 1918, he was in charge of a section of machine guns with the advance guard, when the enemy opened fire with a machine gun barrage on the regiment. He handled his section excellently, greatly assisting the cavalry charge. By the time the squadrons had formed line, he had a terrific fire bearing on the enemy's position. He did fine work.'
