Distinguished Conduct Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during the attack on Suwara Atika on 14 August, 1919. Under very heavy fire, particularly directed towards his wireless mast, he personally kept open wireless communication without a break, and thus made possible the early arrival of aeroplanes which were largely instrumental in restoring the situation.'
