Military Medal 'At POLYGON WOOD on 26/28th September, 1917, after his Platoon Commander had been killed, this N.C.O. took command. Immediately the final objective had been captured, he commenced reorganising his men and by personal efforts spurred on the work of consolidation with the result that the line was quickly established and communications with flank platoons restored.'
