Military Medal 'This N.CO. on learning that a telephone in an advanced post on the BAPAUME RIDGE had failed (16th March 1917) voluntarily went out, a distance of 400 yards under heavy shell and Machine Gun fire and within full view of enemy snipers in daylight to mend the break and adjust telephone which then worked till nightfall.'
