Military Medal 'On the 1st September, 1918, during operations Northof PERONNE, this Non Commissioned Officer went forward with his Lewis Gun and put three hostile Machine Guns out of action, taking up a position of advantage effectively dealt with retreating parties. He displayed great courage and coolness in leading his section, and by his action enabled his Company to reach their objective with minimum casualties.'
