War service: taken on strength, 4th Light Horse Regiment, and posted to A Squadron, Heliopolis, Egypt, 14 January 1916. Transferred to Cyclists' Corps, 20 March 1916. Proceeded from Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 25 March 1916; disembarked Marseilles, 30 March 1916. Taken on strength, I Anzac Cyclists' Corps Bn, 12 May 1916. Admitted to 1st Field Ambulance, 23 June 1917 (gonorrhea); transferred to 39th General Hospital, Le Havre; discharged to Base Depot, Rouelles, 27 July 1917: total treatment: 35 days.
