Proceeded overseas to France via Southampton, 24 November 1916. Detached for railway construction work, 20 March 1917; rejoined unit, 27 April 1917. Detached to Corps Cookery School, 9 July 1918; rejoined unit, 14 August 1918. Detached to 1st Heavy Motor Transport Workshop, Paris, 9 December 1918; rejoined unit, 21 January 1919.

Commenced return to Australia on board 'Zealandia', 11 May 1919; disembarked Sydney, 1 July 1919; discharged, 15 August 1919.
