Admitted to No 2 Australian Stationary Hospital, Tel el Kebir, 15 May 1916 (not yet diagnosed); transferred to No 3 Australian Stationary Hospital, Tel el Kebir, 19 May 1916 (heatstroke); to No 3 Australian General Hospital, Abbassia, 19 May 1916; to Convalescent Camp, Ras el Tin, 31 May 1916; discharged to details, Alexandria, 9 June 1916.

Embarked Alexandria, 2 August 1916.

Found guilty, 5th Training Bn, Rollestone, England, 13 September 1916, of being absent without leave from 2400 hours, 11 September 1916, until 1400 hours, 12 September 1916: award, forfeits 7 days' pay and total forfeiture of 8 days' pay.

Proceeded overseas to France, 7 October 1916; marched into 2nd Australian Divisional Base Depot, Etaples, 9 October 1916.

Proceeded to unit, 20 October 1916; taken on strength of 13th Bn, 20 October 1916.

Posted as missing in action, 11 April 1917.
