Military Medal 'At ARMENTIERES, on the night of the 13th/14th March, 1917, Sergeant SCARR was a member of No. 4 Platoon of the Raiding Party. From the time when our barrage commenced he was continually moving up and down his platoon keeping his sections organised. After the order had been given for the party to return, he was again to the fore in organising his platoon and working them back to our papapet under an exceptionally heavy fire. His splendid courage and coolness under intense artillery fire was the means of steadying the men under his charge, and enabled the withdrawal to be carried out in perfect order. By his devotion to duty he has set a splendid example to the other members of his platoon.'
