Medals

Military Medal

'Is brought under notice for gallantry during the attack near ZONNEBEKE on the morning of the 26th September, 1917. He at all times had absolute control of his Section. His example of coolness and bravery was unequalled. While the consolidation of the Red Line was in progress he personally took his Lewis gun out in front of the position to protect his platoon. His courage and initiative was the means of holding a number of his men together during the barrage put on the Red Line by the enemy. He is recommended for distinction.'
