Meritorious Service Medal

'For conspicuous good service and devotion to duty during the period 25th February - 17th September 1918, especially during the operations near HAMEL on 4th July and CHIPILLY and MERICOURT in August 1918. He has rendered most valuable service and by his example and soldierly conduct throughout, set a fine example to the N.C.O's and men under his Command.'
