Military Medal 'On 24th August, 1918, near BRAY, Private SCOTT volunteered to carry messages and twice crossed an open space of about 150 yards which was swept by heavy rifle and machine gun fire, each time returning to the outpost line on the second journey also bringing nearly 1000 rounds of Lewis gun and small arm ammunition which was badly needed. He afterwards effected repairs to an English Lewis gun in our neighbourhood and kept it in action. His pluck and determination were a great lesson to all his comrades.'
