Meritorious Service Medal 'This N.C.O. has rendered valuable services throughout the period 16th September/31st December 1918 and for the preceding year with the Brigade Canteen. In the absence of the Brigade Canteen Officer he has frequently had the handling of large sums of money and has on such occasions also had to exercise supervision over the Battalion Canteens, and very often make arrangements for them to be moved when on the march. He has always proved absolutely trustworthy and reliable and his business-like methods and sound common sense have enabled the good work of the canteens to be carried on smoothly and to the best interests of the men.'
