Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. This officer, whilst carrying out a task of bombarding a strong position displayed courage of a high order. His gun position, being under a continuous heavy shell fire, was totally destroyed, and he had to construct another. Despite this, his tasks were performed exactly to schedule time, and completed so well that the positions were captured without opposition.'
