Military Medal 'For bravery and devotion to duty during the operations north west of POZIERES 29th/30th August, 1916. He was a Battalion runner and worked for 48 hours without rest and was continually exposed to the greatest anger from shells and snipers. His courage and devotion to duty are very highly recommended.'
