War service: Egypt, Western Front Taken on strength, 60th Bn, Duntroon Plateau, 20 April 1916. Allotted to and proceeded to join 57th Bn, 23 February 1916; taken on strength same day, Tel el Kebir. Transferred to 60th Bn, 15 March 1916, and taken on strength, tel el Kebir. Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 18 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 29 June 1916. Found guilty, 10 July 1916, of (1) being drunk; (2) being absent from parade: awarded 7 days' Field Punishment No 2. Reported Missing, 19 July 1916.
