Military Medal 'Privates [5091 W.A.] FOORD and SHEPPARD helped very materially in maintaining communication during the attack and consolidation of GLENCORSE WOOD east of YPRES on 20th September 1917. They carried messages repeatedly through heavy barrages. During the assembly on the jumping off tapes these men were of great assistance in guiding platoons into their positions.'
