Military Medal

'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty while employed as a runner in the operations East of LE VERGUIER on 18th September 1918. He was always the first to volunteer for any dangerous work, and on many occasions delivered his despatches safely despite the heavy shelling. He showed an utter disregard for danger, and set an example to others.'
