Distinguished Conduct Medal

'For conspicuous and gallantry and devotion to duty. When the section commander was serverely wounded and the tank carrying the guns and crew knocked out by a direct hit he removed all the wounded from the tank, then with the survivors go the guns and gear out and rushed them forward into action under heavy machine gun fire. His presence of mind and energy greatly assisted the advance and saved casualties'
