Embarked Alexandria to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, Gallipoli, 5 April 1915; admitted to Gallipoli Peninsula Hospital, 1 May 1915 (gun shot wound, arm); returned to duty, 12 May 1915; admitted to Casualty Clearing Station, 20 August 1915 (sick); transferred to 3rd Light Horse Field Ambulance Dressing Station, 21 August 1915 (septic hand and influenza); discharged to duty, 23 August 1915; found guilty, 27 November 1915 of (1) conduct to the prejudice of good order and military discipline in that he was insolent to an NCO on parade, 27 November 1915; (2) neglecting to obey an order of an NCO while on active service, 27 November 1915: awarded 7 days’ Field Punishment No 2; disembarked Alexandria, 29 December 1915.
