Admitted to ship's hospital, 29 July 1917 (diarrhoea); discharged, 4 August 1917; disembarked Freetown, Sierra Leone, 10 August 1917, and admitted to hospital; re-embarked Sierra Leone, 20 October 1917; disembarked London, England, 15 November 1917, and admitted to No 2 Auxiliary Hospital, Southall (not yet diagnosed); discharged and marched in to No 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 17 November 1917. Marched in to No 4 Command Depot, Hurdcott, 24 November 1917; to Pioneer Training Bn, 22 February 1918. Found guilty, 8 February 1918, of (1) neglecting to obey Orders 'Bounds' (2) making a false statement (3) wearing a comrade's identity disc: awarded 28 days' Field Punishment No 2. Marched out to Detention Party, Durrington, 26 February 1918. Admitted to Fargo Military Hospital, 3 March 1918 (pain in operation wound); discharged to Training Depot, 12 March 1918.
