Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 17 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 23 June 1916.

Wounded in action, 19 July 1916; admitted No 14 Field Ambulance, 20 July 1916 (compound fracture left thigh); transferred to No 8 Casualty Clearing Station, 20 July 1916 (gun shot wound, both legs and right arm).

Died of wounds, 21 July 1916.

Buried Bailleul Cemetery by Reverend A. F. Fern, 21 July 1916.
