Marched out to School, Tidworth, 20 November 1916; marched in to 8th Training Bn from School, 13 January 1917. Proceeded overseas to France, 28 Febryuary 1917; taken on strength, 32nd Bn, in the field, 6 March 1917. Detrached to 8th Brigade Supply Dump, 13 October 1917; attached to 5th Divisional Train (coal guard), 14 October 1917; rejoined Bn, in the field, 31 December 1917. On leave to United Kingdom, 25 February 1918; rejoined Bn from leave, 12 March 1918. Wounded in action, 24 April 1918 (gas), admitted to 15th Australian Field Ambulance, and transferred to 61st Casualty Clearing Stration (gassed: lethal); transferred from 4th Casualty Clearing Station to Ambulance Train No 5, 25 April 1918, and admitted to 6th General hospital, Rouen, 26 April 1918; transferred to England, 28 April 1918, and admitted to Reading War Hospital, 29 April 1918; transferred to 3rd Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Dartford, 27 May 1918; discharged to No 4 Command Depot, Hurdcott, 29 May 1918.
