'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty as a stretcher bearer near BULLECOURT on 3rd May. Under heavy fire he collected and carried wounded out of action to a dugout dressed theire wounds and saw to their evacuation. he continued the work for over 18 hours until his unit was relieved.'
