Proceeded from Alexandria, Egypt, to join the British Expeditionary Force, 6 June 1916; disembarked Plymouth, England, 16 June 1916.

Admitted to 3rd New Zealand General Hospital, Codford, 9 November 1916 (pneumonia); discharged from hospital and marched in to No 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 9 January 1917.

Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Benalla', from Plymouth, 13 February 1917; disembarked Sydney, 10 April 19117; discharged, 8 May 1917 (medically unfit: weakness and cough).
