Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. Although under constant shell fire for a fortnight, he continued to attend to the casualties of his own and other units, on one occasion for a period of twenty four hours without a break. During a heavy hostile gas attack he displayed the utmost devotion and disregard of danger.'
