Military Medal 'On 26th October, 1916, while employed in delivering bombs to forward lines in vicinity of FLERS from bomb dump, came under heavy shell fire. He continued to conduct his mules and delivered his load as ordered, in spite of the difficulties of road and shell fire, and in returning was hit and wounded in six places, his mules being killed by the same shell. His conduct throughout was an example of steady courage and determination.'
